Resident's parking permits

If you live in Brent, you may be able to apply for a resident parking permit. A resident parking permit allows you to park in a resident or shared use parking bay within the parking zone stated on your permit. 

If you live in a car free development, you will not be able to buy a resident permit or visitor permits.

About the permit

  • You can buy up to three permits per household.
  • Permits are available for 3, 6, 12 or 24 months.
  • Permits are virtual, and vehicles will be automatically covered to park from the permit start date and for the duration of the length ordered.

How to buy a resident parking permit

If you do not have a resident parking permit listed on your account, you will need to apply for this before you can buy a resident permit. See our video below for details on how to do this.

  1. Log in to Ringo

    To buy a resident parking permit you will need a RingGo account.

    If you already have a RingGo account you can log in and apply using your existing details.

    If you need to set up a new account, you can register quickly or easily online before continuing with your purchase. Once your account has been created, you will receive a notification that your account is authorised. At the next step, select the type of permit you require. Once the permit has been purchased you will receive a notification that the permit is authorised.

  2. Purchase a resident parking permit

    1. Once you have logged in to your RingGo account, select ‘Resident permit’ from the menu of options.
    2. You will see a list of all applications on your account.
    3. Find your ‘Authorised Resident Permit Application’ and click on the green purchase icon.
    4. Check the details of the vehicle you would like to park. Enter the start date and time as well as the duration of the permit period you'd like. 

  3. Pay for your resident parking permit

    Once you have entered all the details, follow the payment instructions to complete your purchase.

    The permit will be valid instantly from the date selected. You do not need to display anything in the vehicle.

How to apply for a resident parking permit

Once a permit application has been approved the permit will be valid for 24 months and it will enable you to purchase permits parking valid for 3, 6, 12 or 24 months.

Exemptions 

Resident permits are not valid on vehicles with an unladen weight of more than 3.5 tonnes (3,500 kilograms). 

It is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicle weighs less than 3.5 tonnes when applying for a residents permit. If a permit is issued to a vehicle heavier than 3.5 tonnes, it will not be valid and may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued and served.
