Shaped by the voices of a thousand local people, our shared plan sets the course for your council in the years ahead, outlining the journey we must take together. Our five key priorities are:

Each priority area has set outcomes we will work towards. It builds on our achievements so far with renewed focus and actions. It tackles cross-cutting issues such as homelessness and health inequalities.

Our commitment to EDI

Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2024-2028 is our commitment to tackling inequalities and empowering individuals and families to reach their full potential. At the heart of our vision, it drives Brent forward, ensuring no one is left behind.

Through focus groups, workshops and staff events, we listened to the voices of those who live and work in Brent. Their insights have shaped our priorities and defined our three key EDI objectives:

• Narrowing the Gap: Tackling Inequalities
• Establishing an Inclusive Workforce

Anti-racism action plan

An important component of our EDI ambitions is our commitment to tackle racial injustice. To help realise this we are striving to become an anti-racist organisation and have developed an accompanying Corporate Anti- Racism Action Plan that describes the organisation’s anti-racism journey. With a steadfast commitment to inclusion and equity, we recognise our central role in the fight against racism in all its forms and ensuring that every individual feels safe, respected, and valued. The action plan complements our focus on inclusion, particular in relation to our workforce.
