Allotment availability

We are not currently accepting new applications for any of our 21 allotment sites.

For those already on the waiting list there is at least a 1-2 year waiting list. In some cases, where demand far exceeds supply, the waiting list is up to 5 years. If you have already filled in an application form there is no need to contact us as you are already on the waiting list and we will contact you when a plot becomes available. We will update this page when our application process reopens.

We manage 21 allotments sites across the borough.

Current fees and discounts

Allotment fees

The current charge per pole is:

£25.44 per pole for Brent Residents
£19.08 per pole for Brent Residents who receive a concession
£35.64 per pole for non-Brent residents.
£40.50 for shed rental
Plots are a minimum of 2 poles in size. Our smallest available plot is 2.5 poles in size.

As an example, a 5 pole plot will cost £127.20 for Brent residents. £95.40 for Brent resident with a concession and £178.20 for a Non-Brent resident.

Plots are allocated in the order that they become available and we cannot guarantee the size of the plot offered.

Please note that due to the number of people already on our waiting lists, if you do not wish to accept a plot that is offered to you, you will be removed from our waiting list to allow the plot to be offered to the person next on the list.

Rental fees

All our charges for an allotment plot are based on a charge per pole, which is a measurement of 25.29m2.

If you are an existing allotment holder you must pay for your plot each April either using our online booking form or telephone. You will be allocated a unique customer ID to make this payment.

If you are a new plot holder, you will be able to pay for your plot, once you have signed and returned the tenancy agreement. Please be advised it is very important that as a plot holder your contact details are up to date and you make us aware of any change in telephone number or address.

Discounts

We offer a discount of 25% off the annual rent of a single plot (up to 5 poles), if you are a Brent Resident and:

over 60 or
receive unemployment benefits or
receive disability benefits.

To claim your discount please e-mail us at allotments@brent.gov.uk with evidence of proof of age or benefit entitlement.

Once proof has been validated, you will be refunded 25% of the cost of a single plot (up to 5 poles).

Paying your allotment fees

Please use one of the options below to pay your allotment fees.

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is a quick and easy way to pay your Allotments fees on a yearly basis. You’ll be told in advance how much will be collected, and payments are taken automatically two weeks after the invoice date.

You are also protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee, which promises that you will get your money back straight away if anything goes wrong.

Setting up online Direct Debit

You can set up a Direct Debit online at any time.

To do this you will need:

Tenant ID from invoice
bank account number
bank sort code
name as it appears on your bank account
date of birth

Set up direct Debit

Note, the collection amount may vary in accordance with the Council's billing and subject to annual increase.

Pay online

You can pay online at any time with a debit or credit card.

We support all Visa and Mastercard branded cards, but we do not accept:

Diners card
Discover
JCB

For pre-paid cards these should be Visa or Mastercard branded.

You will need your Unique tenant ID, or the payment reference number stated on the giro slip, for example, 6106. The Reference can be found on the demand letter sent via email or via post.

If you are in a public place, we strongly advise you make sure you are not overlooked as you enter your details to prevent them being misused by somebody else.
