Grass and verge cutting

We are responsible for maintaining grass verges on the public highway.

These include:

• roadside verges
• roundabouts
• central reservations

Verges are cut six times a year. We allow grass to grow to about 300mm.

Between April and July we have an extra team working to cut grass.

We don’t cut grass that is privately owned or on properties or estates not owned by us.

Report overgrown grass areas

Once we have confirmed it is needed, we will aim to arrange for grass to be cut within 10 working days.

At present, no repairs to grass verges are being carried out.

We cannot cut grass on private land.
