Councillor Liz Dixon, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Public Health, said: “I am deeply saddened to hear that Jamal Ringrose, a 15-year-old who was stabbed on Saturday on Dudden Hill Lane, has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time, and we extend our condolences to everyone affected.

“We recognise that incidents like this cause significant concern within the community. Thank you to everyone who has already come forward with information. If you know something you’ve not yet shared, I encourage you to support the Police’s investigation by calling 101 or calling Crimestoppers anonymously.

“I also want to reassure residents that the Metropolitan Police have increased their presence in the area, with officers on the ground providing reassurance and support. The council has installed more CCTV cameras in the area, where we know there are wider concerns around anti-social behaviour and crime.

“Violence like this has no place in our neighbourhoods, and we must work together as one community to put a stop to it.”

A public meeting will be held with representatives from the Metropolitan Police to give residents an opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and hear directly from local services about the ongoing response. Further details will be shared via local groups.

The council is working closely with the Metropolitan Police and community partners to support residents and respond to concerns following the incident.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 9258/30MAY, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
