Brent Communications

Brent Council invites residents to contribute to shaping its next Council Plan, a document that will help set the direction for the Council’s services and investment over the next four years, by taking part in a borough-wide survey.

The Council Plan will set out the priorities for delivery that will guide decision-making, service design and spending, ensuring that resources are focused on the issues that matter most to local people.

“

A Council Plan is much more than a strategy document – it is our promise to residents about how their council will work to improve everyday life in Brent over the next four years.

”

Chief Executive of Brent Council

It will explain what the council aims to achieve as well as how it will measure the impact of what it does for the benefit of residents and businesses. It will also describe the organisation’s values and ways of working, setting out how it will work in delivering the priorities.

The council provides a wide range of essential services, from collecting waste to supporting children, families and vulnerable residents. Many of these services are required by law, but the council must also make choices about where to focus limited resources and what to prioritise.

Taking part in the survey will help ensure those decisions reflect the needs, aspirations and experiences of local communities.

Kim Wright, Chief Executive of Brent Council, said: "A Council Plan is much more than a strategy document – it is our promise to residents about how their council will work to improve everyday life in Brent over the next four years."

"We want to hear from as many people as possible. Whether you've lived here all your life or have recently made Brent your home, whether you own a local business or run a community organisation, your views will help ensure our priorities reflect the people we serve. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey."

Your views will be used to inform the development of the plan, and a draft will be presented to Full Council for elected councillors' consideration in November.

To have your say, take a short online survey. The survey is open until 30 August.
