Majority of Brent pupils offered top primary school choice

Families across Brent will be celebrating this week, as the vast majority of children (96%) entering reception year in September 2025 have been offered a place at one of their top three preferred primary or infant schools.

Demand for primary school places in Brent is lower than last year, with the borough receiving 150 fewer applications for a reception place compared to last year.

Councillor Gwen Grahl, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Schools, said: “I can’t wait to see what this latest intake of primary school children go on to achieve, and I’m delighted they’re starting their education journey in Brent.

“Parents receiving these offers can have confidence in the quality of Brent’s schools which are consistently highly rated by Ofsted, giving their children the best start in life.”

The council is now working on offers for late applications, and these letters will go out in May 2025. Because a number of primary schools in Brent still have vacancies, late applicants are still likely to receive a school offer for one of their preferences.
