Purpose of the Directory
The Brent Green Business Directory is designed to provide signposting to environmentally conscious residents interested in locating local, sustainable businesses. It offers a searchable platform for green enterprises, aiming to encourage everyone in Brent to shop local, support sustainable economic growth, and explore greener choices.
This initiative aligns with the Council’s Climate & Ecological Emergency Strategy 2021–2030.
Access
The Green Business Directory is provided by the Council free of charge for information purposes only and for personal use.
No Endorsement or Warranty
Inclusion of a business in the Green Business Directory does not imply endorsement of, or warranty in respect of, any business, product, or service.
Accuracy of Information
While the Council seeks to ensure accuracy, it cannot guarantee that information is always current or error-free. Users must rely on their own enquiries before acting on details provided in the Directory.
Supplier Responsibilities
- Businesses supplying information are solely responsible for the accuracy and reliability of their submissions.
- Misrepresentation, whether intentional or negligent, may result in liability to both the Council and users.
- Suppliers must ensure compliance with statutory disclosure obligations, including:
- The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002
- The Company, LLP and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015
Acceptable Use
Users must not:
- Introduce malicious software, undertake denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise misuse the site.
- Attempt unauthorised access to the Council’s systems.
- Use automated processes (such as scraping, crawling, or AI tools) to extract or analyse content from the Green Directory.
Breach of these provisions may result in suspension or termination of access and may lead to legal action.
Intellectual property
- Intellectual property in the Green Business Directory and its content belongs to the Council and its licensors.
- Council logos and trademarks are protected and must not be used without prior written consent.
- Other third-party trademarks or names may appear, but their use requires the owner’s permission.
Third-Party links
The Directory may contain links to external websites. The Council has no control over third-party content and accepts no responsibility for its accuracy or availability. Using third-party sites is at your own risk.
Liability and Limitations
- Nothing excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by the Council’s negligence.
- All other liability, including for lost profits or reliance on information against the council, is excluded.
- The Council is not liable for interruptions or unavailability of the Directory due to circumstances beyond its control.
Changes
The Council reserves the right to update or withdraw the Green Business Directory or these Terms at any time. Continued use after publication of revised Terms constitutes acceptance.
Complaints and Disputes
The Council aims to resolve complaints quickly. Laws of England and Wales apply, with disputes subject to the jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.

Confidentiality and Security
