We offer a wide range of services for children and young people, from books to enjoy to books to help with homework. All libraries have collections of books for children from board books and picture books for the very young, to books for teenagers and graphic novels.
We also have dedicated parent collections with insight, advice and inspiration on subjects from pregnancy, weaning, nutrition, supporting your child’s development and self care for parents and carers.
How to join
It’s never too early to join your local library. We welcome children of all ages and joining the library is free.
You can register your child online or visit your local library. You will need to show a document with proof of your name and current address when you pick up your child's new library card.
We do not charge for reservations, overdue or damaged items, if they are borrowed on a library card for anyone under 12.
