Portage is a home-visiting educational service for pre-school children aged up to four with SEND.
It aims to support the development of young children’s play, communication, relationships and day-to-day participation in family life.
What we do
A trained portage worker visits you at home to offer support and advice. This normally happens on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Your portage worker will help organise fun activities for your family, which will help you to develop your child's communication, physical and social skills, and improve their learning and development.
We can also give you information about portage support groups held at local Family Wellbeing Centres where you can meet other parents.
