Projects and initiatives
Pride in Place
Harlesden and St Raphael's Estate have secured long-term investment through the Government's Pride in Place programme. The funding will support local priorities identified by residents and communities, including improvements to public spaces, community facilities and neighbourhood safety.
Picture Palace
The former Picture Palace cinema is one of Harlesden's most significant heritage buildings. Brent Council acquired the building to help secure its long-term future and support the delivery of cultural, community and educational opportunities within the town centre.
The council continues to explore opportunities to bring the building back into active use, ensuring it remains a valued community asset and an important part of Harlesden's future.
Making Harlesden Home
Making Harlesden Home is a community film project celebrating the stories and experiences of people who have made Harlesden their home.
Harlesden Walk of Music
Harlesden has a unique place in the history of reggae and Afro-Caribbean music in the UK. The Harlesden Walk of Music celebrates this heritage and aims to create a visitor attraction that recognises the area's contribution to music and culture.
Harlesden Mural
The Harlesden Mural celebrates the area's culture, creativity and local identity through public art in the town centre.
