Phase 1 created a new Enterprise Hub and Community Space in the Granville Centre.
Works were completed in April 2018, and the Hub officially opened in May 2018. The hub is a popular local attraction. Find out more about the Enterprise Hub at the Granville.
Phase 2 of the project will ensure the site will continue to host community space, enterprise space as well as a children’s centre/family hub, and the Granville Plus Nursery School.
The established users of The Granville (South Kilburn Trust), Granville Plus Nursery School and Granville Children’s Centre are remaining open and on site during the building work.
These organisations will move in to larger, modern and fit for purpose spaces as the project continues. The redeveloped site will also deliver 18 council homes. The site won two awards at the prestigious New London Architecture Awards 2019, including Mixed Use (unbuilt) and Community Prize.
Levelling Up Fund award - the council has been awarded £7.75 million towards phase 2. Brent was one of only four London boroughs to receive an award. The bid can be viewed below, although commercially sensitive information has been removed.
Adam Khan Architects were appointed in 2017 to lead the design team. In 2022 Guildmore Construction Ltd were appointed as the build contractor who started on site in September 2022.
The project will be delivered in phases with the refurbishment works of the Carlton Centre due to complete first in Winter 2024. The final phase will be the new residential blocks which will complete in Summer 2026.
