The Taxicard scheme offers reduced fares in black cabs for people who have a serious long‐term mobility impairment, or severe sight impairment, and difficulty in using mainstream public transport.
Your Taxicard can be used anytime, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, subject to taxi and private hire vehicle availability. All journeys made must either start or finish in the borough.
If you are eligible for a Taxicard you can use it for any type of journey, including to:
- visit relatives
- attend GP appointments
- go shopping.
You should not use your Taxicard for any personal hospital appointments. Please contact your GP or hospital to arrange patient transport.
The cabs in the scheme carry ramps and are accessible to wheelchair users.
